Noggin n Natter - Feb 21

These events are another chance for local members to gather for a social chat. There were a total of 11 historic vehicles parked in a semi circle on the grass North of the Strathalbyn Football Clubrooms making quite a spectacle in classic machines as an example of who we are while a boys cricket match was in progress, a stunning sight looking through my glass of sauvignon blanc out unto the beautifully manicured lawns from the clubrooms, and it is right here in our town!

Gathering form 05.00 pm onward the members has plenty of time to display and discuss about all the variety of cars there and in sheds then finally headed inside on a rather pleasant evening considering the three previous nights of uncomfortably warm temperature at about 7.00pm. The Football Clubrooms are very spacious having been upgraded and it didn’t take long to get a drink, plenty of help behind the bar, we sat around waiting for our meals which were all moderately priced and generous serves. Some left fairly early and some stayed for a while longer and I think this community support event is quite well received and appreciated.

Those along on the evening were:

Roy Shelton & Carmel Chell in the Silver Drophead Daimler; Kate Knight, Ian Hogben & Jason Wotton; Rob & Vicki Loffler and Malcolm & Suzi Drewer all in the Grey Jaguar 420; Ian & Helen Henschke in his Blue Buick; Rory Liebelt in his Green Holden Torana; John & Jenni Howard in their Katoomba Grey MGB Roadster; Colin & Tricia Goodrich in the red Austin A55; Joe & Heather Geue of their green Falcon Ute; Maurice Byrne in his Chocolate XJ6 Series 1 Jaguar (first showing); Steve Roberts in his red MGB Roadster; Rivette in her Cream Holden Ute; Ian & Marylyn bell; and myselt in the red MGC Roadster.
